If 2ND skin fell of sooner
Hello Everyone!
Healing process of Your tattoo is crucial for the final look of it. It is not only the way the tattoo was made ( of course it is the main factor, no doubt for it ), but how You treat the fresh ink is extremely important too!
Never underestimate the first few weeks of the healing process!
Do You know that during that time, the tattoo is the most fragile and needs special care and attention? You can visualize it as a growth. From a newborn – to the state – let’s say Young Adult – when it can take care of itself and be resistant to the outside world. It will never be fully resistant to the sun – to keep the intensity of the tattoo as long as possible – it is necessary to use sun creams during the sun exposure. But You know it already for sure! To help You cope with the healing process. We always talk about it after the session, and here on this website, You can easily find a very detailed After Care Guide! To make the whole experience even more pleasant. I use Second Skin foil to protect Your tattoo during the first days. In most cases it stays easily for the recommended time ( 2-4 days ), but what if for some unexpected circumstances it removes faster?
What Should You Do? There are basically two options. First steps are exactly the same as in the After Care Guide ( remove completely, wash that placement with clean hands and natural soap, and pat dry with paper towel ).
Then You can either :
A) Let it breathe for a while. Then, put a tiny layer of cream and wrap with casual, transparent plastic foil. The same as You use for food. However, In this case, You need to change the foil every 4-5 hours, because it is just plastic. Keep doing that up to 4-5 days after the session. Then the skin should be in a condition that no additional foil protection is needed. Just put the cream – exactly as in the After care instruction.
B) Let it breathe for a while too. And if You have access to the second skin foil ( the most important thing is to use only the Second Skin foil that is DEDICATED for tattoos!!! ). You can stick it in the same way as I did in the studio. On the clean and dry skin ( no cream!!! ) and You can forget about it for another 1-2 days ( maybe even 3 days, it is quite a flexible time frame, depending on the person, type of tattoo and type of skin. Just observe Your case and adjust the time to Yourself ).
