First Step
We are using a medical film that acts as a second skin to protect tattoo wounds from germs and bacteria and at the same time. It allows the skin to ‘breathe’. The film assists the skin to heal naturally from the inside out, by locking in the body’s natural fluids and enzymes, which guarantees beautifully healed tattoos. The thin self-adhesive film provides a moist healing environment during the initial, and most critical, healing stage of a tattoo wound.
It protects the new tattoo from friction and provides a waterproof,
antibacterial barrier that prevents pathogens and external contaminants from entering the wound. The film is breathable, letting oxygen in and allowing excess moisture vapour to be released from the wound. It’s light to wear, flexible and stretchable which allows it to be placed anywhere on the body and will stay put for up to several days. No more scabbing, no risk of infection, no rubbing clothes or other external factors that will damage the tattoo.
We recommend to leave it on for at max 2-3 days. However that time should be adjust to the person, it might vary. Please be very gentle pulling it off. Take your time, and eventually remove in under luke warm water if it’s not coming of easily.
Second Step
WASH YOUR HANDS THOROUGHLY WITH PH-NEUTRAL SOAP BEFORE TOUCHING THE TATTOO.
You do not want to contaminate your tattoo with bacteria as you can develop an infection. Wash the tattoed skin with luke warm water and PH-neutral soap. with clean, freshly washed hands. In order for the pores to close, briefly let cold water run over the tattoo to the end of the washing process. Then let the skin dry or very gently pat the tattoo with a paper towel. Do not use a cloth towel as they can carry bacteria and this can be transferred into your fresh tattoo. Afterwards, apply a thin layer of a tattoo aftercare cream. Repeat this process 2 hours later if the tattoo continues to weep fluids and then again apply a thin layer of a tattoo aftercare cream. Make sure to clean your tattoo daily to prevent any infection. You can only use the tattoo after care cream on the closed skin, when it is not an open wound anymore.
Next Steps
For about 2-3 weeks after the removal of the second skin foil, moisturize the tattoo with tattoo aftercare cream 3-5 times a day. Please remember that during the healing process, it’s normal for the skin to peel. If this is your first tattoo, you might worry that it will fade or disappear, but there’s no need to be concerned! After about a month, you’ll be able to see the final result, and we’re confident that your tattoo will look great.
Attention!
Very rarely, you might notice a ‘blur effect’ during the first day of having the second skin foil on your new tattoo. This occurs because there can be a tiny gap—just a micrometer or less—between your skin and the foil. Any extra ink that didn’t fully absorb into the skin could spread slightly in that space.
Please don’t panic! This effect is not on your tattoo; it’s just a temporary situation. Once you remove the foil, you’ll see your beautiful tattoo clearly! In our experience, this is quite rare. However, if you notice more ink than just a slight blur, you can remove the foil earlier, clean the area, and follow the rest of the aftercare instructions.
During the healing process of a tattoo, it’s completely normal for the skin to start peeling. This is a natural part of the healing process as your skin regenerates. It’s important not to stress about this, as it’s a typical reaction and not a cause for concern. Avoid picking or scratching the peeling skin, as this can affect the final appearance of your tattoo. The complete healing process usually takes around a month, and the final result will be fully visible only after this time. Be patient, and remember that proper aftercare is key to achieving the best outcome!
