Fresh vs Healed
How does the fresh tattoo differ from the healed one?
In this blog I will share with You my expertise about this topic, tell you the most important factors that have an impact on the final look and give You my little secret how to be always satisfied with the tattoos!
Just after the appointment the tattoo is super intense, the skin is a bit irritated, sometimes red. On that point You don’t see the whole beauty of it. Our body has an incredible ability to heal, and just after the tattoo is ready regeneration begins ( sometimes I have the impression that even during. If there is a dermatologist here, please let me know when the process or regenerating actually starts. From my logic, it should be immediately, otherwise I don’t think we will survive as humans ). Sometimes, even after 10-15 minutes You notice that the skin reduces its redness.
Typically, it is a perfect time to put the second skin foil on it.
For the first few days, when You keep the foil on it, You still see that the ink seems to be on the skin. It makes an impression that it has not melted into the body yet, rather looks like a stamp. If You like to read once again about how the healing process looks like please check our previous blog :

Now, after more or less a month You can see the whole picture of Your tattoo! It looks very natural, like it always was there. The new layer of skin rebuilds itself on top of the tattoo and now it is in Your skin. Making a perfect combination of art and body! Ink changed its intensity a bit and became a new part of You!
The final look of the tattoo depends also on
the tone of Your natural skin, the actual brand of ink a tattoo artist used, and technique. There are many brands of inks, and even every black ink differs in terms of its shade a bit. Here is how the tone of skin affects the final look on Your tattoo. I will cover only black ink, which is our specialization at Vadelma Tattoo.
1. Contrast: Darker skin tones may have less contrast with black ink, making the tattoo appear less prominent compared to lighter skin tones. On the other hand, black ink tends to stand out more on lighter skin tones due to the higher contrast. It is kind of logical, if You think about it. You can make an experiment at home, and draw a line with black pencil on a white paper, and on a brown. Similar effect works in tattooing. But, hey! There is no better or worse. Only different, but always we can make beautiful art for You, no matter of any skin color!
2.Ink Saturation: Lighter skin tones often allow for more saturated black ink because the ink is not competing with the skin’s natural pigment. On darker skin tones, the ink may appear slightly muted or less intense because it mixes with the skin’s melanin pigmentation.
I hope that now You understand even better the factors that have an impact on the final look of Your tattoo.
And now! As I promised! My little secret :
How to always be satisfied with the way the tattoo looks? Despite of obviously choosing the right artist, and follow quality not only pricing ( which is hard to understand if we are talking about our own body ). I love my tattoos! Easy as that! I know that ( maybe fell more? ) that all of my tattoos were made with love and good intentions, by someone who is passionate about it. If You realize that no one in the whole universe. Literally no one! Have exactly the same tattoo as You have, it makes the experience with tattooing even more special.
Yes, literally if You get a tattoo is it as unique as Your fingerprint.
It is a handmade piece of art, made by a human for another human being. Even if there are some small imperfections, exactly that makes it also more natural and personal. In reality, does every flower have an ideal patel, or the same colors in every single part, or every leaf has the same structure or width? We should look at tattoos, songs, flowers, basically everything as a whole picture. So the trees won’t cover the view of the beautiful forest. We admire the paintings, music, parks, not because they are mathematically ideal, but because they make us feel something. They have that THING in them that is vibrating with us. Same is true with tattoos – an artist anytime creates for You something special. Only one time in his/her and Your life.
It is like having Ed Sheeran singing a song, only once, only for You and only for Your ears.
Isn’t that amazing? It is a way of thinking to produce more love, satisfaction and happiness overall!
All the best,
Simon
