Micro Realism in Vadelma Style
Hello Everyone, It’s Natalie here!
In today’s blog – I’d love to announce that micro realism tattoos, in my own ‘’tattoos like a drawing’’ style are back! You will certainly notice that they will have the VADELMA VIBE! As You already know from my portfolio, all the tattoos I did have a kind of special atmosphere! I am not saying that to show off and raise my ego, but it is a fact.
After studying ( ‘’to study’’ is I think a right word to describe this process, it was for the purpose of learning – a self made tattoo academy) probably all good tattoo artists, I found out that the way I make tattoos is always different. You can find other examples of such tattooers, who somehow, even being concentrated in a specific genre of tattooing, manage to distinguish themselves with a characteristic SOMETHING. If You look closer at their work and check the background, they always have one thing in common.
Art was always in their life.
Of course, in different forms. Paintings, photography, graffiti, drawing, sculptures and so on. Very rarely, it was the tattooing only. With a backpack of ideas and experience, it is possible to take tattoos to the next level. Creativity comes along with work, waiting for inspiration is just another way to describe procrastination. At that point, a small digression is needed : the fact You can draw, or paint won’t make You immediately a great tattooer. You have a kick start, that’s for sure, but making tattoos is extremely complicated. Tattooing is also not for everybody, an artist needs to feel good while making art. Being at ease with the type of art You are providing is extremely important. It must be something coming out of You, if the only drive is money or hype, there is almost zero chance to be successful – what may be even more important – happy in the long term. It is a necessary factor to be able to give Your customers the best out of art!
One thing to paint alone in the attic and the other to make a tattoo on a client’s skin. To be honest, that fact was very stressful for me at the beginning. And still everytime I go to the studio, I have a little thrill, but now in the form of positive excitement, rather than dreadful stress 🙂
You need to know a lot about the human body too. You need to learn how to work with skin, which is an environment unique for every person. A canvas is always the same, with skin, You must observe it. Act accordingly and adjust those small things separately to every customer. It is something to learn along the way. Time and experience is crucial here.
Back to Micro Realism!
I plan to post more and more such tattoos and projects. Flowers will be with us too, so don’t worry about it! I have not stopped loving flowers, but somehow feel like I need to extend my service.
What would be a perfect idea for a micro realism tattoo?
Here are some examples that I love to turn into tattoos! The cool thing about it is that it could be a tattoo based on the picture You made. Making the ink even more personal :
summer cottages
garden of grandparents
favorite park
beloved vacation spot
lake/canal view from a boat
canal house from one of the Dutch Cities
You name it. Turn such a picture into a tattoo and make a beautiful illustration on Your body. With a little help from me 🙂
If I ask You, what do You see when You close Your eyes, relax and remind Yourself about a place where You spend a wonderful time and have lovely, warm memories. What would it be?
For everyone, the answer will be different. Unique. You see? A tattoo should be very personal. Made only for You, because it is You, that will carry that form of art for the rest of Your life on Your body. There are literally limitless possibilities to create a personalized micro realism tattoo. Maybe connected with your favorite flower or Your pet, playing around somewhere? Use Your imagination! I can promise great fun during that process!
