First Step

We are using a medical film that acts as a second skin to protect tattoo wounds from germs and bacteria and at the same time. It allows the skin to ‘breathe’. The film assists the skin to heal naturally from the inside out, by locking in the body’s natural fluids and enzymes, which guarantees beautifully healed tattoos.  The thin self-adhesive film provides a moist healing environment during the initial, and most critical, healing stage of a tattoo wound.

It protects the new tattoo from friction and provides a waterproof,

antibacterial barrier that prevents pathogens and external contaminants from entering the wound. The film is breathable, letting oxygen in and allowing excess moisture vapour to be released from the wound. It’s light to wear, flexible and stretchable which allows it to be placed anywhere on the body and will stay put for up to several days. No more scabbing, no risk of infection, no rubbing clothes or other external factors that will damage the tattoo.

We recommend to leave it on for at max 2-3 days. However that time should be adjust to the person, it might vary. Please be very gentle pulling it off. Take your time, and eventually remove in under luke warm water if it’s not coming of easily.

Second Step

You do not want to contaminate your tattoo with bacteria as you can develop an infection. Wash the tattoed skin with luke warm water and PH-neutral soap. with clean, freshly washed hands. In order for the pores to close, briefly let cold water run over the tattoo to the end of the washing process. Then let the skin dry or very gently pat the tattoo with a paper towel. Do not use a cloth towel as they can carry bacteria and this can be transferred into your fresh tattoo. Afterwards, apply a thin layer of a tattoo aftercare cream. Repeat this process 2 hours later if the tattoo continues to weep fluids and then again apply a thin layer of a tattoo aftercare cream. Make sure to clean your tattoo daily to prevent any infection. You can only use the tattoo after care cream on the closed skin, when it is not an open wound anymore.

Next Steps

For about 2-3 weeks after the removal of the second skin foil, moisturize the tattoo with tattoo aftercare cream 3-5 times a day.

General recommendations

  • If You got Your tattoo on the outside forearm ( exactly that part of the arm which is on the desk/table while working at the computer ) please remember not to rub with that part of the arm the desk. It will have the same effect of the tattoo as scratching, which can cause falling out of some parts of ink. Please be mindful, because it can happen without thinking, just upon some habits.
  • 3-4 weeks no sauna sessions or steam baths, a fresh tattoo is a wound.
  • Protect it from the sun for at least 3-4 weeks ( but don’t use sun protection lotion before the tattoo is healed properly, stay in shadow or cover the tattoo under the clothes ) Use a high sun protection ( SPF 50+ ) after it is healed to help it stay sharp and strong. The more you will take care of your tattoo the longer it will look great. Please remember to do it every time when you will expose your tattoo for the sun even years after your tattoo was made.
  • Wash your hands before touching your fresh tattoo, do not let others touch your tattoo because they can transfer bacteria and do not allow any pets or animals to come into contact with the tattoo while it is healing.
  • Do not pick, peel or scratch fresh tattoo.
  • Try to avoid sports during the first weeks – avoid heavy sweating in the first 2 weeks.
  • Tattoo after creams, are only allowed to use when the skin is closed, which is after Your remove second skin foil, or after approx. 2 days after the session. Apply thin layers.
  • Please don’t use medicated creams that are intended for faster wound healing from the pharmacy.
  • Do not shave the fresh tattooed area for the next 2 weeks.
  • Do not drink alcohol for 2-3 days after tattooing.
  • Listen to your artist’s care recommendations.
  • If you have some allergic reaction ( a little itchiness and red skin is acceptable ) underneath the medical film ( second skin ), gently take it off. Wash the tattooed skin with lukewarm water and PH-neutral soap. with clean, freshly washed hands. Then let the skin dry and very gently pat the tattoo with a paper towel. If you find yourself allergic to the second skin foil stop using it.
  • If you have any unexpected allergic reaction please contact a dermatologist and your tattoo artist. Every skin is different so always take the best care and observe your fresh tattoo.
  • No swimming for at least 2-3 weeks ( pool, sea or bath tub ).
