2nd Skin Foil
Here You go! With a new Tattoo on Your own!
To make the healing process as comfortable as possible, we are using the Second Skin type of foil to protect Your fresh ink. It has been around for a few years ( originally used in hospitals for wounds ) and fortunately someone had a wonderful idea to take it to the Tattoo Industry. Thank You!
Short description :
- It makes Your life easier – Those of You who remember old way of wrapping/protecting the tattoo, know what I mean.
- Transparent – so You can show the tattoo to everybody.
- Waterproof – You don’t need to be so careful about the tattoo while taking a shower. But please avoid bath tubs, even that foil has some limits.
- Bacterias and Germs proof – Tattoo stays safe for the most crucial time.
- It’s breathing. No, it doesn’t have lungs, but it lets Your skin breathe.
- It sticks to Your skin very well.
- Sensitive Skin friendly – very, very low chance to be allergic from it.
When we put the Second Skin foil on Your Tattoo, basically You can forget about it.
You just need to keep it on Your skin for the RECOMMENDED Time ( which may vary from person to person, we always give You detailed instructions after the session ). In most cases, that foil stays on without any problems. If You don’t dance, jump or make a brand new choreography for TIK TOK it should be fine. Then, after the RECOMMENDED Time is over. You just need to remove this foil ( better slowly ) , gently wash that area, pat it dry and apply the cream. Easy as that! However, sometimes it might happen that for some reason the Second Skin foil, even though we know that it’s doing its best to protect Your Tattoo like a bodyguard. Just fell off sooner. Why? It is hard to say, but here is what You should do in that case:
Don’t Panic! It is not a life-threatening situation 🙂
- Do exactly what You will do anyway, after the recommended time which follows: remove this foil entirely, gently wash that area, pat it dry and apply the cream ( More instructions in the AFTER CARE page ).
- Go to the kitchen ( not for a snack, not yet at least ), and look for an ordinary plastic food foil. Usually, everybody has it. Then ( I assume that You already put the tiny layer of cream on the tattoo ), wrap it with that foil.
- After 3-4 hours, throw away this plastic foil, wash that placement, apply a new layer of cream and again wrap it with the new piece of foil ( You don’t need to wake up during the night to change it, it is not a newborn, no worries 🙂 ).
- Repeat it for 2-4 days. Then Your Skin should be closed and just regularly apply the cream.
One more thing!
If You notice that You have an allergic situation with the Second Skin Foil, immediately remove it and follow the instructions above. With one little modification. Wash it gently, wait until that area calms down and let it breathe for a while. To be honest, it never happened to us, but it is fair to say about such a possibility. Even on the original instruction You can find an annotation about it.
Hopefully, now You know a lot about the SECOND SKIN foil!
